The questions we are asked most often at our Masab Tank office, answered without the sales language you will find on most consultancy websites.
How the consultancy operates
No consultant can, and any agent quoting you a fixed success rate is selling something they do not control. The decision belongs entirely to the visa officer. What we control is the quality of the file, meaning complete documents, information that stays consistent across every page, and a properly evidenced case. That is where the large majority of refusals actually originate, which is why file preparation matters more than any promise.
Our professional fee is separate from the consulate visa fee and the visa application centre service charge, and it varies by destination and visa type. You receive the complete breakdown in writing before any payment is made, with all three components listed separately so you can see exactly what goes where. Nothing is added later in the process.
Consulate fees, visa application centre charges and insurance costs change through the year and differ by destination, applicant age and submission centre. Any figure printed on a website goes stale within months, and applicants who budget from a stale number arrive short at the counter. We quote current fees at your consultation instead.
The first consultation can happen on WhatsApp or over the phone. Original documents and biometrics do require you in person, so most clients visit us at least once at Masab Tank, which is easily reached from Mehdipatnam, Lakdikapul, Banjara Hills and Nampally.
Only for as long as the submission requires it, and it stays with this firm. We do not route documents through sub agents, which is a common arrangement in this trade and a frequent cause of lost passports and missed appointment slots. You can ask for the status of your passport on WhatsApp on any working day.
How long things actually take
It depends heavily on the consulate and the season. Dubai and Qatar are usually the quickest. Schengen applications generally run a few weeks, longer in the summer travel peak. For the USA the main constraint is appointment slot availability rather than the processing itself, and that fluctuates through the year. We give you a realistic date range for your destination at the consultation rather than a best case figure.
Start earlier than feels necessary. Most consulates accept applications from a set window before travel, and applying at the opening of that window gives you room to recover if a document has to be redone. Applying three weeks before a wedding abroad is how people end up paying for priority processing that may not be available.
Yes. Slot booking for B1 and B2 visitor visas and F1 student visas is part of what we handle, along with the DS-160 form. Availability changes constantly and we monitor it rather than checking once and hoping.
Most consulates want to see a confirmed itinerary, but that is not the same as buying a non refundable ticket. We arrange the itinerary that satisfies the requirement without exposing you to a large loss if the decision goes the wrong way. Discuss this with us before you book anything yourself.
If something has gone wrong before
In most cases yes. A previous refusal has to be declared on every future application, and hiding it is far more damaging than the refusal itself. The right approach is to identify precisely what caused it and address that reason directly rather than resubmitting the same file with a different agent's letterhead. Bring your refusal letter to the consultation.
Weak evidence of ties to India is the most common, followed by financial documents that do not support the stated trip, inconsistency between the covering letter, itinerary and bookings, and incomplete or expired supporting documents. A smaller but significant group is refused for photograph or form errors that never needed to happen.
There is usually no mandatory waiting period, but reapplying immediately with the same file almost always produces the same outcome. What matters is whether anything material has changed. Sometimes that means waiting for a stronger financial position or a completed employment period rather than paying a second fee straight away.
Study abroad applicants
Yes. Profile evaluation, university shortlisting, application submission, SOP review and letters of recommendation are part of the service, along with the visa file itself. Several of our Google reviews are from students now studying in Canada and the USA.
The amount is set by the destination and the institution, and it generally covers one year of tuition plus living costs. What matters as much as the amount is the source. Funds that appear in an account shortly before the application, without an explanation of where they came from, weaken a file rather than strengthening it.
A gap is not automatically a problem. An unexplained gap is. Employment records, a diploma, a certification course or documented family circumstances all account for the time. We help you evidence it properly rather than leaving the visa officer to draw a conclusion.
Yes, and for the USA and UK in particular it is one of the most important parts of the process. Practice sessions cover your choice of course and university, how the study is funded, and your plans after graduation, which are the three areas where Hyderabad applicants most often lose an otherwise strong file.
The rest of what we handle
It depends on which state issued the certificate and how quickly the issuing university responds to verification, which is the stage nobody can accelerate. The chain runs through notary or state HRD, then Ministry of External Affairs attestation, then embassy attestation. We give you a status at each stage rather than one open ended waiting period.
A Police Clearance Certificate is usually required for employment, residence and long stay visas rather than short tourist trips. Gulf employment visas almost always need one. We will tell you at the consultation whether your specific category requires it.
Two group departures every month through the Umrah season, with the visa, flights, hotels near the Haram and ground transport arranged as one package. Hajj bookings are open for the coming season. Contact us early, since hotel availability close to the Haram tightens quickly.
Yes. We handle international and domestic ticketing as a standalone service, including group and family bookings, whether or not there is a visa file attached.
Still have a question
Send it across and you will get a real answer from someone who handles these files, usually within one working day.
